Lyth Arts Centre welcomes a group of aspiring young musicians who have been attending weekly "jam sessions" at Thurso Youth Club facilitated by Highlife Highland Youth Work staff and local musician Andy Williamson.   Andy has been mentoring them while they try out cover versions of some of their favourite chart numbers and write, perform and record their own songs.

David Patrick Octet - Sketches of Spring/Riot at the Rite 31st May 2014 Time: 20:00:00 Location: Lyth Arts Centre Length: 2 hours David Patrick International Jazz Octet Sketches of Spring/Riot at the Rite David Patrick (piano), Dick Lee (clarinet), Sam Coombes (saxophone), Brian Molley (Saxophone), Tom McNiven (trumpet), Martin Zenker (bass), Ole Seimetz (drums) Stravinsky's work "Le sacre du printemps / The Rite of Spring" represents a collision of all the developments that were coming to the surface of European culture around 1913.  At its first now-famous performance in the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, a riot broke out among the Parisian audience.
