Cafe Exhibitions Christmas Exhibition extended Throughout January For the rest of January the Christmas exhibition, a collection of smaller works by various local artists, will be on show in the café. All paintings are for sale.
A touring exhibition of film and video work commissioned by Timespan, made by three Scottish artists in response to the remote landscape of Sutherland. Location: Caithness Horizons AV Room.
Caithness is the setting of ‘Call of the Undertow’, a powerful debut novel by writer Linda Cracknell, who travels to Caithness Horizons, Thurso on Saturday 26th October as part of a book launch tour. Linda Cracknell has made regular walking and exploring visits to Caithness since 2008.

Society of Caithness Artists. The 78th annual exhibition opens on July 23rd 2013 and runs untill Saturday 3rd August.
A new exhibition documents the construction and installation of the world’s first five megawatt offshore turbines near the Caithness coast. Internationally acclaimed Sutherland artist Sue Jane Taylor, famed for her work with the offshore oil industry and Piper Alpha Memorial Sculpture, has turned her focus to renewable energy in her latest exhibition entitled Beatrice Works, which opens in Thurso on Saturday June 8th before travelling to Aberdeen, Kirkcaldy and Kirkwall.

Caithness Horizons and North Lands Creative Glass [NLCG] have teamed up regularly since we opened our doors four and a half years ago. We have hosted presentations by many of the international residency artists who have visited the Lybster centre of excellence in glass since 2009, and audiences have been constantly surprised by the creative inventiveness and technical brilliance NLCG continues to support.

Joanne B Kaar - "The Portable Museum Of Curiosity" This "Portable Museum of Curiosity" is the result of a collaboration with Joanne B Kaar, artist, and Joanne Howdle, museum curator for Caithness Horizons, as part of Museums Galleries Scotland / Creative Scotland, Iconic Artists in Iconic Places residency 2012. "The Portable Museum of Curiosity" is available for schools, colleges, community groups, museums, galleries and other heritage organisations to borrow.
