SCOTTISH ENSEMBLE MUSICIANS IN RECITAL OCTOBER 18, 2015 CHAMBER MUSIC During a Scottish Ensemble Residency based in Inverness, four of their musicians will make a trip to Lyth to work with The Caithness Orchestra.   The Scottish Ensemble musicians are: Violin Cheryl Crockett Violin Bas Treub Viola Catherine Marwood Cello Alison Lawrance This is part of Scottish Ensemble's not just normal concerts when they plan a cluster of events in a specific location and move from the concert hall into the community.

North Lands would like to say a huge thank you to our regular lampworking tutor, Ian Pearson and Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd for their kind donation of torches, lathes and cutting and polishing equipment from the now retired nuclear facility.   Ian has worked tirelessly to make the donation possible and it has taken him two years to process all the authorisation paperwork.

14 May 2015 Lyth Arts Centre Elvis McGonagall one man & his doggerel Stand-up poet, armchair revolutionary and recumbent rocker, Elvis McGonagall is the sole resident of The Graceland Caravan Park somewhere in the middle of nowhere where he scribbles verse whilst drinking malt whisky and listening to Johnny Cash.  Elvis is the 2006 World Slam Champion, the compere of the notorious Blue Suede Sporran Club and appears regularly on BBC Radio 4 and occasionally on the telly.
